Michael started playing guitar at the age of 10. By 11, he was playing with local bands at venues around town. His ability to play blues, jazz, southern rock and country had many musicians asking for him to sit in. At age 13, while attending a Buddy Guy concert, he was asked by Buddy to “come on up”. He jumped at the opportunity and, according to Portland radio station WBLM, “blew the roof off the place”. Today Michael plays regularly throughout southern Maine, the Boston area, and recently played in Nashville. He is always looking to expand on his musical journey. Inspired by Stevie Ray Vaughn, Marcus King, Jeff Beck, Chris Stapleton, Jimi Hendrix, Warren Haynes, his music is complex, but soulful.
In October 2018 Michael joined Mark Dufoe, Kennebunkport singer/guitarist and formed DoubleCross. The duo plays regularly throughout coastal southern Maine playing tunes inspired by Allman Brothers to ZZ Top and everything in between.
On January 1, 2020 Michael introduced his first band,,, Great Aunt Alice. The Great Aunt Alice Band is a four piece jam band that hits the ears of music lovers in all genres. This band is over a year in the making, adding the perfect compliment of musicians to join Michael, playing music similar to Gov't Mule, Marcus King Band, Allman Brothers and many more. Michael (guitar/vocals) also teams up with GAA Band keyboards/vocals, Dave Ernst, to form Dually Noted, an incredible duo playing tunes from the GAA Band set list, and lots of other great surprises.
Be on the lookout for GAA Band, DoubleCross, Dually Noted, and Michael Corleto Solo Acoustic playing throughout New England and Nashville!
